LIVONIA, MICH. – Madonna University alumni are making their mark at Michigan State University College of Law, demonstrating their commitment and excellence in legal education and practice.

Caitlin Urisko, a 2017 Madonna graduate, thrived at MSU Law. She served as Associate Editor for Volume 31 and later Managing Editor for Volume 32 of the International Law Review. Her academic achievements culminated in the Jurisprudence Award for the highest grade in Criminal Trial Advocacy: Post Conviction Remedies. Once she passes the Bar Exam, Caitlin will transition to working as an associate attorney specializing in professional liability, employment law, and appellate litigation at the Detroit office of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP, a California-based AmLaw 100 law firm.

Katie Kennedy, a 2021 Madonna graduate, excelled in practical legal skills at MSU Law. Selected for the Geoffrey Feiger Trial Practice Institute, she secured a favorable judgement for her client in a mock civil trial. Kennedy's success continued in moot court competitions, where she earned recognition for strong legal briefs, including 3rd place at MSU's internal competition and 2nd place at Capital Law School's Child Welfare and Adoption Law competition. Her experience as a paralegal before law school proved valuable. "I had a better understanding of the way the legal field operates in the real world, which was most helpful for my success in the trial practice program as well as in my job as a law clerk," Katie said. "I would highly recommend aspiring law students consider the paralegal program for their undergraduate degree"

Both graduates credit Madonna University's ABA-accredited Paralegal Studies program for their success. The program's emphasis on hands-on learning and practical experience through internships equipped them with a competitive edge for law school and beyond.
